March 13, 2023: The Ohio Ballot Ballot Board voted unanimously on Monday to approve a petition to make abortion a state constitutional right. While this does not mean it’s legal, the board’s approval gave the go ahead for supporters to collect signatures to put the issue on November’s ballot. If Ohioans vote to approve the amendment, this proposal would replace the current Heartbeat bill, which makes abortions illegal past six weeks.
